The Waffle Island concept has been known in England since 2012 and has now opened its first location in the shopper’s paradise Westfield Mall of the Netherlands in Leidschendam. For Waffle Island Ltd., we produced and installed a unique and colorful sales island. Visitors can enjoy waffles, milkshakes, crêpes, and other sweet treats at this location.
The oval-shaped sales island covers 18 square meters and is constructed from cabinet carcasses with an Ecoplex cladding. The cladding is fully finished with colorful mosaic tiles. On top of this sits a pink “topping” made from HI-MACS Solid Surface. The food presentation elements are made from tempered glass, stainless steel, and HI-MACS worktops. On the exterior of the unit, we added four seating elements, and a pink Korean Sakura tree adds an extra touch of charm.
We incorporated engraved logos with LED lighting into the island and also carried out the complete electrical and water installation. The sales island was designed by Mark Niewenhuis from Ni-O for 3D Communication.

We consider routing, acoustics, sightlines, materials, and maintenance. Everything must not only look good but also be logical, safe, and durable in use – especially in sectors such as government, culture, and airports.

Turnkey means that we take care of the entire process: from engineering to planning, execution and aftercare. One point of contact, one schedule, one result. No separate links, but one sleek whole.
Yes. We have our own production in-house and work with a permanent group of high-quality production partners. We engineer, plan and coordinate everything — including production, installation and delivery. This is how we guarantee quality, planning and a high level of finish.
Because we contribute ideas from practice to the practical feasibility of a project. We often see where bottlenecks can arise and how to prevent them — technically, financially or architecturally. This way, you prevent delays and failure costs.
